A man-day refers to one qualified QTI inspector working for a full day (approximately 8 hours) at a single factory location.

The number of man-days required for an inspection or audit depends on several factors — including product complexity, order quantity, inspection level (AQL), sample size, and travel distance.

This transparent calculation ensures that each assignment is properly resourced for complete product and process verification within the agreed scope.
AQL (Acceptable Quality Level) represents the maximum number of defective units or defects allowed in a sample that can be considered acceptable during a quality inspection. It defines the tolerance level for product quality in percentage or defect count.

QTI follows international ANSI/ASQ Z1.4 (ISO 2859-1) standards for AQL-based inspections, using sampling plans that determine how many pieces to inspect and the acceptance or rejection criteria for each lot.

To view the detailed AQL Table and understand sample size levels, please visit our dedicated AQL reference page.
QTI performs the inspection strictly as per the AQL standards and the client’s approved specifications, criteria, and instructions.

After each inspection, we provide a detailed and illustrated report within 24-48 working hours, clearly showing all findings, defect classifications, and results. The report indicates whether the shipment is Conformed, Not Conformed, or Pending based on the inspection outcome.

The final shipment release decision always remains with the client, who reviews the report and advises the supplier or factory accordingly.
QTI follows the General Inspection Level II as per the international ANSI/ASQ Z1.4-2003 (ISO 2859-1) standard for all product inspections.

The standard AQL levels applied are:
Critical Defects: AQL 0.0
Major Defects: AQL 2.5
Minor Defects: AQL 4.0

These levels are used to determine sample sizes and acceptance criteria for each inspection, ensuring consistent and reliable quality evaluation across product categories.

The AQL levels can also be customized as per the buyer’s specific requirements or product sensitivity.
For first-time clients, QTI requests a prior notice of around 5 to 7 working days to complete onboarding formalities, review specifications, and allocate qualified inspectors.

For repeat or ongoing clients, a minimum notice period of 3 working days is typically sufficient to schedule an inspection at the factory site.

In case of urgent requirements, express inspections can also be arranged depending on auditor availability and factory location.
Yes — on the client’s request, QTI can arrange to courier defective samples after inspection for review and evaluation.

All defect findings are photographed and recorded in the inspection report by default; however, if the client requires physical samples for verification or internal assessment, our team can coordinate shipment directly from the factory premises as per the client’s instructions.
QTI inspections are conducted based on the AQL (Acceptable Quality Level) sampling system, which means only a specific number of units are checked from the total shipment. This method provides a statistically reliable sample size but does not involve inspecting every single unit in the order.

For example, if an order has 50,000 units packed in 1,000 master cartons, our inspectors will randomly open a select number of cartons and check units inside as per the agreed sampling level. While this process gives a reliable representation of quality, it cannot guarantee that 100% of the shipment is defect-free.

Therefore, QTI cannot offer a product warranty on behalf of the supplier. The responsibility for replacement or warranty terms lies between the buyer and the manufacturer. We recommend that clients include clear warranty, quality, and payment terms in their purchase orders to safeguard their interests.
OPE stands for Out of Pocket Expenses — which include travel, accommodation, and related logistical costs incurred by the inspector during the service.

OPE is not applicable if the factory or inspection location is within 10 kilometers of our base city. For other locations, applicable OPE will be added to the inspection cost.

The final confirmation of OPE applicability is provided at the time of order confirmation based on the factory address and travel distance.
QTI’s preferred mode of payment is bank transfer (wire transfer). All inspection fees are required to be paid 100% in advance prior to scheduling the service.

This ensures smooth coordination and confirmation of the inspection date.
